This site is located 14 km from Dera Ismail Khan City, on Indus Highway toward Bannu .

Rehman Dheri is an important “Harrapan period site” in this region. Dheri is a local language word meaning mound. Mound is 10-15 feet high from the surrounding ground level. The site was excavated by the University of Peshawar (Archaeology Department) in 1976-77. Millions of potsherds are scattered on the surface of the site. On the basis of antiquities recovered during excavation three periods have been established.Presently site is well preserved/intact and free of encroachment. However keeping in view gradual development activities i.e. housing and agricultural in close vicinity it is necessary to take necessary measures to safe guard the site from any encroachment in future.
Recommendation / Future Plan:
The Committee after inspection of the site proposed following short term measures.
Demarcation of the site should be got done
through District Revenue Officer Bannue and large size concrete boundary
pillars at an interval of 100 feet should be erected and use of total station for
measurement will be more appropriate.
